This is a no-commitment volunteering opportunity. We are looking for anyone with a sewing machine and a little time - individuals, craft/sewing groups, schools, D of E students to sew reusable sanitary pads for refugees and vulnerable people around the world.
Our volunteers make them on their own terms - when they can and as many or as few as they wish. We currently partner with organisations who distribute our pads in Lebanon, Greece, Turkey, Uganda, the US and here in the UK. We have a wonderful, kind, supportive group of volunteers and an active Facebook Group. We send regular newsletters on the project.
Since we launched in August 2020 with just three volunteers, we have over 1,000 volunteers in the UK, elsewhere in Europe, in the US and Canada and have sent over 30,000 pads around the world, taking over 3,000 people out of period poverty for the next three to five years. Join us!
