Anyone can be impacted by cyber crime, even charities. To the criminals you’re just another target that hasn’t protected themselves properly. Doing the basics right will go a long way in keeping your charity secure, which is what this awareness session from NAVCA and the NCSC aims to provide.
If you are running a small group, organisation or charity you are likely to be holding data. This training course will help you learn some simple effective measures to secure your devices, manage your passwords, spot suspicious emails, protect your personal data to protect you and your community group or charity.
Sometimes it’s easy to assume that charities and community groups are too small to be targeted by online crime or scammers. However, the smallest organisations are often the most vulnerable in all sorts of ways. The latest data from DCMS shows the average cost to a charity of a cyber security breach has been calculated to be around £1,560 https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/cyber-security-breaches-survey-2020
